A senior account executive at Katz & Associates, Greg Block works as an onsite community relations specialist for the City of San Diego Water Department’s Capital Improvements Program. He is responsible for outreach to residents, businesses, and community and planning groups regarding the Water Department’s $773 million citywide program.

Greg has managed communication and public relations for companies and organizations in a variety of industries, including law, real estate, development and construction, technology, not-for-profit, health care, entertainment and hospitality.

Prior to joining Katz & Associates, Greg was the marketing director of a startup regional technology magazine. In this role he was charged with developing relationships and partnerships with San Diego’s many business associations and their members, building the magazine’s print and online readership, and producing and promoting the company’s quarterly special events.

Greg also spent several years at a San Diego public relations agency where during his last two years at the firm he held the position of vice president. His experience includes writing, editing, media relations, media training, crisis communication, strategic planning, community outreach and event production.

A graduate of San Diego State University, Greg earned his degree in journalism, with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in political science. He worked his way through college as a sports writer for the university newspaper as well as several regional newspapers and magazines.
