Robin Rockey serves as a director for Katz & Associates, working onsite as the Southern Nevada Water Authority Capital Improvements Program project information manager.

Robin has worked for Katz & Associates for more than 15 years, most recently in tandem with an onsite position as project information manager for the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Since 1997, Robin has provided community outreach, media relations and project information management for the Southern Nevada Water Authority's $2 billion Capital Improvements Program serving the greater Las Vegas Valley. Projects include numerous pumping stations, large-diameter pipelines, a new water treatment facility and massive intake structure, each requiring a unique community and media relations strategy and approach. Prior to her assignment in Southern Nevada, Robin served more than eight years as onsite public information manager for the City of San Diego Metropolitan Wastewater Department. In this role she handled community relations, public information and media relations for the multi-billion dollar upgrade and expansion of the region’s sewerage system.

Robin has authored numerous papers for water, wastewater and engineering associations (WEF, AMSA, AWWA, ASCE), with titles such as “The Beauty of Biosolids: Starting Early with Public Education,” “Keeping the Public in Public Works Facilities Planning,” “Training Engineers to Speak Plain English” and “Tales from the Trench.” Her most recent publication-“Community Outreach-SNWA Style”-was presented to both APWA and AWWA/WEF in 2003.

Robin earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California at Berkeley with an emphasis on journalism and creative writing. Prior to working for Katz & Associates, Robin was a free-lance writer for Copley News Service and worked for the Australian Tourist Commission through a Bay Area public relations firm.
